Axel or Cat Back Exhaust for R56s

Hey everyone I'm looking for a louder than stock axle or cat back exhaust. At first I wanted a cat back but, I am having trouble finding an affordable California legal system which bolts on and doesn't delete the second cat, so an axle back might be the right choice. Any suggestions?

Wouldn't axle and cat back be the same thing on a Mini? Most exhaust systems for the Mini are downpipe-back, meaning the bolt up immediately after the downpipe. Anyway...

If you don't want to delete the second cat and be carb legal then you would be best off getting a muffler shop to put on a JCW muffler for you, replace the muffler with a straight-through muffler or resonator, or delete the muffler altogether.

Hi I went through the same dilemma ultimately decided to go axle back because I didn't want to deal with drone or emissions issues in CA. I have a Remus powersound axel back exhaust that I love but now is soon for sale as I am returning my lease. It only took 30 minutes to get installed and I have the manual valve wide open all the time and enjoy the burbles in sports mode.

A manual valve is exactly what I am looking for... Never knew Remus did that! How much for your muffler?

I'm pretty sure you can delete the second cat. The only reason that is there is to help it pass emissions on cold starts. Once its been warmed up and running the main cat will do all of the work. I could be wrong if someone else wants to chime in here.
