extra cord in glove box on used mini

hello so i just bought my first mini cooper, after 4 years i finally found one, a 2009 mini cooper used of course and when i opened the glove box this cord was inside and i'm trying to find out what it is and or where to put so whatever its suppose to do works. any help will be appreciated and thank you

the cord is marked bmw 6789329-02

The one shown is a front brake pad wear sensor. There is only one brake pad wear sensor on the front and it is on the front left wheel (yellow arrow). When it comes time for new front brakes, you wont need to buy a sensor now at least. The rear sensors have a different part number HERE.
