So this is a new one...

I just got my MINI inspected and I went to reset the service light like I always do since I do all my work myself, but when I went to adjust the year I accidentally went too far. So now instead of alerting me September of next year, it won't alert me until September of 2017. How do I turn it back? Do I need an OBD tool or can I do it through the vehicles on board computer?

Several of the service intervals are 2 years. It sounds like it is correct. I know when I reset my oil change interval it displays a 2 year interval.

 

State inspection happens annually in PA. So when I went to, for lack of a better term, "confirm" my adjusted date to 2016 (the correct year) i accidentally bumped it to 2017 (too far ahead) and didn't know if there was a way to turn it back to 2016 or not.
