My cooper S with the N18 shifts at 5500rpm in first gear at wot.(Automatic trans) No matter if it's sports mode, normal mode or manual mode, it automatically shifts at 5500RPM. But after that it shifts at 6500rpm redline in every other gears from 2nd onwards.

Is this normal? Or is this an early sign of something failling? Thanks
