looking for help

Just found out that my 2007 hatch R56 mini cooper s with 74,000 miles while driving on the highway the chain came off of the oil pump the engine is now no good. I've tried talking to dealership and Miniusa both saying the same thing because of the Modification to car they will not touch it. I've put on K&n air filter and exhaust and larger intake, nothing to engine itself. I was hoping somebody might be able to help me. I don't want to buy a 6,000 crate engine but I want it fixed.

Unfortnately, dealerships will use things like that to void warranties. I've dealt with this before on a vehicle (non-MINI car) that had engine problems at 50k miles and they voided the warranty due to a downpipe, and it was an actual national wide problem that occurred with those specific years. Where are you located? There are some good reputable shop vendors on here that might be close to you. Otherwise, I'd recommend taking it to an Indy MINI specialist shop that will be way less than the dealer. You can also search for a used one on www.car-part.com. Sorry to hear about all this. Good luck.
