it is a reminder for basic date based service ...

I too was a customer of Orlando MINI and while not the BEST dealer I've ever experienced I gotta tell you they are WAY better than most.
A couple of years back I got invited to a 'free car examination' for my out of warranty 7-s

I heard them talking to other 'customers' that were in that day with LONG lists of EXPENSIVE stuff needed. I was prepared .....

They called me and said I needed NOTHING ...... curious in that I'd been doing my own maintenance for a while. IMO this was 'honest' as compared to another MINI dealer who told me I needed pads and rotors NOW .... funny since I'd changed them myself weeks b4 . . .

In Orlando area? Bring it over to my house and I'll do the basic maintenance ... you buy lunch and listen to my BS

FOOTNOTE

It would not have been covered by warranty .... it would have been covered under pre-paid maintenance. These are DIFFERENT but have been a cornfusion issue for MINI buyers since 2002 . . . . these can each be EXTENDED but one does not extend the other . . .
The first time I went to Orlando Mini was right after I bought the car, to get it checked out. I showed them that the rear rotors were not wearing evenly, you could visibly see that on both rear rotors that the pads were not hitting them on the inner 1/4 of the rotor because they have rusty like appearance. They had three service advisors come out and look at it, you could tell they knew it was messed up and then they proceeded to tell me they'd inspect it. After having the car for hours, they told me that the rotors and pads are fine and once I use the car more the pads will eventually even out. I told them that made no sense as they will just continue to only touch the outer surface. Long story short they would not replace the rotors or pads under warranty. On top of them refusing to change my oil which was very dirty, black tar like. When I took the car home and drained the pan I was like WTF? They were like oh yeah, you're good for like another 5K miles at least. Anyway, this is has gone way off topic but I have had the same dealership BS from VW as well throughout many years. All dealership service should be avoided IMO unless there's a recall or for some other unforeseen reason that you have to use them.
