R56 Toyo Proxes R1R new compound for 2015
Toyo Proxes R1R new compound for 2015
Just installed a set of the new Toyo Proxes R1R which for this year increased the Treadwear Index from 140 to 200 and I am very pleased so far. Picked up a nail in my old tires so I made the switch to my race wheels, Toyo R888 race for a week. Damm noisy tires, sounds like I have a caliper dragging but oh my can they grip! I live in a beastly hot climate, been over 100 degrees for a month now which makes the pavement over 150 F. Hope I still have some wear cycles left in them, no track day until September so they are wrapped up in the garage now.
Anyway, really pleased with the R1R wheels in a 205/50/15 size on Kosei race wheels. Quiet, sticky, with a stronger "on-center" feel than the race wheels, which just like to turn - wandering with the slightest imperfection in the road or the drivers inattention. These R1R's track well, pivot from the back at speed in a very predictable manner just like the race compound does. Really happy with them, highly recommend - at least in my type of climate.
