I have a 2007 mini cooper base model with a W vin and 100k miles. I have a cylinder 2 misfire that follows a specific coil after switching, which is good because that means I can simply replace that part. However, when I went to advanced to buy a new coil the coil doesn't actually fit my car. The coil is way too loose, I can lift it out with my pinky with the wires in place. The part number of the coil is E1092. I feel like it shouldn't be so loose? I bought new spark plugs and it seems to fit the new ones fine before installing, but that makes me worry that of I change the other 3 spark plugs te original coils won't fit.

 

The genuine MINI part number for the coil is 12-13-8-647-689. These parts can be seen here. Might be able to call and see what they say in regards to part number references.
