Best bang for the buck on the Non S is the DDM intake. Makes a great throaty sound, improves throttle response, and we dyno tested it at 8ft lbs torque at the front wheels. Well worth it.

Another option is the K&N intake:

4.1 HP @ 5300 RPM estimated

Even just aFe Power Pro 5R OE Replacement Filter's are great. This drop in filter will out flow the stock paper filter for improved horsepower and torque. Can cruise around our parts catalog here to look up some other great modifications that you can do to your R56. Let me know if you have any other questions!

The DDMWORKS are really nice but that price tag isn't lol, I personally like the way the K&N set up looks under the hood and the price tag is more manageable. Either one is nice and will add a little more pop in the base models. I'm currently in the market for a CAI and may go with a K&N as I said it's more manageable in price.

I think that the DDM intake looks more like a factory part, it matchs so well.

I went with a high flow AFE drop in filter. Everything that I researched on a number of the "cold air intakes" for the r56 wasn't encouraging. Many of the "cold air intakes" actually pull more hot air from the engine bay than the stock unit.

The stock air intake is really pretty efficient from a cold or cooler air intake. That is why I went with a drop in high flow filter maintaining the stock air intake route.
