satellite Radio MODULE question

Hello members...wondering if any of you heard of Satellite Radio Module, I was on the phone with Sirius people trying to get my satellite radio activated, this was probably the 5th time, the conclusion of this phone call was to go back to the dealer and ask them to check the Satellite radio module or do a hard re-set on the module first. Has any of you heard of that? do you know where would that be located. I have been to the dealer regarding this issue...they charge 125.00 per hour and I was told this might take about two hours just to find out what is wrong with it, then trying to spend the money to fix it...appreciate any feed back...Thank you..Mark

I don't have satellite, but isn't the module under the passenger seat?

I am not really sure, I have the In-dash NAV System that the DVD is in the in-dash as well- my car 2008 Cooper S R56, however, I heard some models have the DVD under the passenger seat which also where they might have installed the module, I am just guestimating...don't know about mine though...maybe someone can direct me....Thank you.

Not positive on R56 but the R50 has the module in the drivers side boot area, there is a tab to open and see the module. Are you getting channel 184? If you are you probably only need a hard reset.

Thank you...I am getting all the channels, however, I was told when I go to channel 184 that I should hear commercials or something, but I do not hear nothing on 184 or scrolling through the channels. I do get the "acquiring" message that stays on forever. I am thinking you might be right with hard reset since a previous owner was using it, and Sirius had to change ownership, it probably stuck on previous owner information, and now there is new owner (me), so resetting it might solve the problem "am hoping". I just need to know where the darn thing is located. I would hate to go to dealer and pay $125.00 for something that might just take few minutes....Help please.

Heve you even bothered to look in either place we suggested? It's a pretty simple affair with a flashlight and a mirror.

184 is free to anyone with a receiver, and yes it is just about commercials for Sirius channels, but it has to be working to do a hard reset
