I do not think the dealer can detect a tune on the DME
They just overwrite when they do updates.

note that the 'entire' warranty can not be voided for a tune .....

warranty on brakes for example is not impacted at all .....

to void the warranty the mod must be shown to impact the issue .... an engine performance issue MIGHT have a valid claim ... burn a valve? Maybe a valid denial. A wheel bearing fails .... I don't think they'd have a leg to stand on.

A simple semantic issue perhaps

but one can not argue that if you replace the pads and rotors with EBC, you can't expect warranty coverage on those components from MINI and could have a grey issue with almost any brake issue.

Ditto, if you replace the exhaust and the exhaust subsequently falls off in the warranty period, I don't see a chance of a warranty claim.
