Exhaust question. Alta or Borla?

I have an 07 S. Would like to change out my exhaust. Would like something I can hear that sounds nice n throaty. Been thinking about an Alta cat-back. But also been thinking of the Borla sport. Anyone have a opinion they'd like to share?

There's a few videos on youtube with the alta exhaust, such as this one:
This is a video of the borla exhaust:

I chose the fJCW exhaust and I love it! I got it cheap off of NAM and had it installed at the local dealer for $100. The tone is way better than stock but is only really loud when you step on the throttle - cruising, I barely hear anything.

I made a decent comparison video between stock and JCW right after I installed it:

And here's one of a longer drive but not too much revs:

I recently swap my stock to Magnaflow exhaust. It sounds louder but not disturbing , the car burps awesome in sport mode and it seems to be more responsive and faster...: thumbsup:

Are you looking for anything other than sound (i.e. lightness)? Have you or are you planning to tune the car? I went with the Quicksilver downpipe back. I believe it was one of the lighter ones on the market at the time. Akrapovic makes a nice system. Both those are bit pricier however.

I was really just looking cat back as I kept reading people with turbo backs having codes thrown. Probably too much flow and throwing off the O2 sensors. I was more looking for sound/a little more power/ and stainless (300 stainless, not 400)

I went with the NM Engineering downpipe back and couldn't he happier. I wanted to get rid of the resonator and 2nd cat and this does just that and sounds great. The fitment was perfect and retains the connecting support that some exhaust systems require you to remove. http://www.nm-eng.com/231/5/0/2614/n...st-system.html

I think both are good choices. Personally I like the sound of the Borla a bit more.

I installed the Borla sport on my girlfriends mini (r53) and I'm really happy with it. Doesn't make a massive difference at idle and cruise speeds which is nice, I've always thrown loud pipes on my previous cars since it turned heads. Growing up a bit I enjoy being able to still talk in the car haha. But like others have said its nice and poppy in sport and when engine braking. I am looking to install the same thing on my r56 when I can

I like these two systems as well, I am just wondering which of the two has the least amount of drone.
