R56 Graf Water Pump
Graf Water Pump
Hey guys,
I just wanted to share that the Graf Water Pump does fit the Mini Cooper R56 S, at least it did for me on my 07.

Here is the picture of the original OEM (bottom) and the Graf Water Pump (top). You'll notice that the Graf's footprint for the wheel is actually a circle which makes it larger than the original. And I should also mention that the top bit of the shaft protrudes out farther than the OEM, which has led some members to grinding it down
I did not have to do that on my install. Instead of unmounting the engine on the passenger side and jacking it up, I approached this from under the car and lowered the engine. Doing it that way I was able to effortlessly install the the Graf Water Pump. I originally removed the OEM from the top and I can say that the lowering method is quite a bit easier. The only thing you'll have to be careful of is the top of the brake sensor plug which should be removed from the holder. Other than that it was pretty self explanatory.
Good luck!

Nice write up. You can get it from the side and the bottom , I used a piece of wood and nudged the engine away from the side firewall then the pulley fit over the nub and I was able to tighten the three bolts down , after the pump was in. Nice trick on lowering the engine.
