Swap

Ok I would like to first thank you for reading this. I have a 2008 non S Mini Cooper I do not enjoy turbos as I have turbo many cars along with supercharged them. I have just welcome myself to the mini scene with my non S due to I total my others car and now just had to pick this up. I was wondering can I do a full swap I to this car. I understand I'll need ecu ignition most likely axels ect but I was reading the JCW is supercharged which is what I am most a fan of. Can this be done I have all tools and everything I just was wondering HAS it been done and can it be done. Thank you again

While I'm sure it's possible, it's going to be more cost effective to just trade up to a car that already has the engine you want.

I do know of a guy who has taken out his A/C unit, relocated the alternator to the A/C unit's location, then placed a small Vortec supercharger in the location where the alternator used to be on his '09 Mini Cooper S. So he runs a twin charge set up. Granted he's some aerospace engineer or something like that and I have no clue what he did to tune it. As far as power output it's not that much, only like 210 bhp according to the dealership that was showing off this guy's car for a couple days. I didn't think something like this was possible but obviously it is. As for the cost, I have no idea. But with the right about of $$$ a lot of things are possible on any car.

Like someone else said, I would just trade in for the R53 that comes with the supercharger already. Good luck on whatever you decide to do.

I would love to but I have up finish paying this car off as I own it and my other car got total it was a slow daily but I can't deal with it. I see they sell turbo kits and supercharger kits. Now I know in 2008 some ecu models have the a ecu with the turbo option turned off so I will just need go to dealership. I was thinking going all motor but there are not really any options
