Finally Back with the new to me 2011 R56

It has been since 2011 since I owned a Mini and I missed it a lot. I just bought a 2011 Certified Pre-Owned R56 S... Pepper White!!!! and I love it. I will post some pics in the coming days. I was wondering if anyone in the Charlotte area knew someone better than the mini dealership to put on Bonnet Strips. I bought the strips through them but they wanted 195 dollars to put them on. Any ideas?

Congrats! I know the feeling of missing the MINI. I really regretted selling mine over time. I am in the process of reunification.

Thanks I am looking forward to many years with my mini again. It is hard to believe I sold my first one now that I am back into one.

You can try finding an automotive vinyl shop or vinyl wrap shop to do the installation for your stripes. They should be cheaper than dealership.

I know a shop that does vinyl printing for those complete wraps and they could put on hood stripes under half an hour.

when I had my 02 MC I was in myrtle beach and had a guy put my stripes on for 60 bucks. But everywhere I call in Charlotte is well over 100 which is ridiculous if you ask me.

Do it yourself, it's really easy.
Clean the bonnet, use a spray bottle with a mixture of plain water and a little bit of soap to spray the area where the stripe is going. Peel the backing from the stripe and apply, the soapy water will allow you to align it. Then squeegee bubbles out, working from the center. When it is clear of bubbles gently remove the protective tape. Voila!
You can pick up a squeegee at auto parts stores, look in the section with window film etc… They usually have applicator liquid too, but the soapy water works fine.

Good Luck!
