A 7ft Christmas tree.

It suddenly seemed a lot bigger when I got it back to the car.

I got 8 (7 High School girls with backpacks and me into the car) and drove them home after school. Needed clown shoes however!

an ikea "Solsta" futon couch in box fresh from the store. Had to bungee the door closed because it stuck out like 4 inches, but made it the 40mins drive home fine.
And then last night a 5-6 ft long coffee table just barely squeezed into the back and closed the door .

8? :O I've fit 5 total before, and I thought that was tight. Was that with rear seats folded down?

I drove home from Ikea with KING size mattress (rolled up) and a friend in my hatchback.

My buddy and I scuba dive regularly. We have full cold-water gear (considerably bulkier than warm water diving kit) for 2 people including 4 tanks in MINI when we drive down to Monterey.

I fit a fully assembled IKEA Klingsbo coffee table. Admittedly, it scratched the heck out of my tint since I failed to cover up the feet of the table and the drivers' seat was all the way forward, but I managed it! However, I would never ever do that again. I'm 5'7" and sitting that close to the steering wheel was scary and incredibly uncomfortable. Prior to that a full-size office chair was probably the largest single item I had ever fit in my MINI.

Full-sized couch including cushions, partially disassembled. It was being transported to an upholstery shop. Hatch had to be bungied shut, but I was shocked that it fit in there at all. No photos, sadly.
