Timing Chain Tensioner Problem in 2011 MCS
Hi all,
I'm new to this site, and am looking to buy a 2011 MCS. The service record shows the car had a Timing Chain Tensioner leak @35k miles and a repair of the tensioner @42k miles. But I thought that problem was fixed before 2011?
Thanks

My other post somehow won't show up, so I'm gonna update here.
I'm hoping someone could help me with reading the service history.
There're several claim lines.
1. Driving at constant speed under all operating conditions misfires/malfuntion @ 18k miles.
2.CBS/SIA indicator incorrect due to brake pad wear (DSC-instrument cluster)@35k miles.
3. Check chain tensioner leak @35k miles
4. Coolant Temp Sensor @35k miles
5.Chain tensioner, camshaft leaking @42k miles.
Has somebody had the same problems? How bad are these?
As for 3 and 4, I'm not sure if it means there were problems or are they just checkups?
And, for 5, they did it after they got the car and they didn't replace the tensioner, just replaced the piston, which cost $2 and $120 labor.
Your help is greatly appreciated!!

I had under recall my coolant temp sensor and timing chain tensioner replaced. No issues, but my valve cover is being replaced on Tuesday all at a wonderful price of $327 and 55k miles:-). I'd look at a different '11, already sounds like a pain in the rear.

Well, thank you for replying. I think I'm gonna pass on this one then. It is a great deal price-wise though. But I'd rather spend a little more to avoid future troubles, if I could.
