R56 Sore, twisted left knee with sport seats (Polar beige gravity leather)
Sore, twisted left knee with sport seats (Polar beige gravity leather)
In April, I traded my 2007 Cooper on a 2013 Cooper with polar beige Gravity Leather seats. Ever since then, my left knee cannot sit comfortably over the thigh bolster, largely due to the hard plastic shell surrounding the outer side of the seat not allowing the bolster to compress enough. Note that I said OVER the thigh bolster, since I'm not skinny enough to be able to sit with both legs between the two bolsters!
My right leg is fine, presumably since the plastic shell isn't as tall on that side. However, I cannot for the life of me keep my left leg straight, and this is causing me a great deal of grief and knee pain to the point that sometimes it feels like I twisted it after getting out of the car.
The 2007 had standard seats, which never gave me any problems. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Can an upholsterer modify the seat by removing or cutting down the left thigh bolster?

Did you not test drive the car??? I mean, if you loved it so much you'd HAVE to buy it and put new seats in, fine.... but I would think something like this would be noticed during a test drive. If you didn't test drive a vehicle before purchasing it(new or not), well then you're beyond reasonable advice.
