well blacking out the chrome trime is not free but it is way cheap. couple cans of plasti dip is less then 10 bucks. also doing the hood scoop mod where you take out the plastic insert and put in mesh is really cheap. if you want to you could get rid of the noise maker on the cold side bost tube and alos do a turbo muffler delete on the hot side boost tube. also you could always do a do it yourself intake. just by a cone filter from a parts store and get rid of the stock air box. thats all i can really think of that is cheap or free.

If you haven't yet, you might browse through the dorky cheapskate mod threads. The gen2 thread is fairly new but a lot of stuff in the gen1 thread would work for all gens.

There is a free camber mod for the front suspension (adds camber, but requires an alignment afterword to correct the toe, unless you do that yourself).

For around $60 you can get the NM engine mount, which can help with reducing missed shift and torque steer.

Most mods are suspension based, so read up in the mods:suspension section, see what you can learn.

There are also threads in the competition section for H-stock, which is pretty restrictive to mods.

Have fun,
Mike

Anyone off hand know what size the plug you get from Home Depot for me noise reduction removal? That would be a super cheap mod. Some people say you will gain 0.5-0.75 psi wi that. Don't know if its true or not but its less area for the turbo to pressurize none the less.

I bought a 1 1/4" freeze plug from Auto zone, worked great! Had to use some WD40 to get it in, but finally worked it in.
