Rattle in overhead console where the sunrtoof switches are

I have a 2008 MCS and the overhead console where the switches for the sunroof and overhead lights are rattles over bumps and when I knock on it with my hand and during loud music. I do NOT have a sunroof so it is not the infamous flaps needing felt issue.

When I push up on it.. the noise stops.. so this is it.

How do I remove this overhead plastic console so I can line it with stuff to keep it from rattling?

Thanks

The cover part pulls off and then there are a couple of screws for the black plastic base or carrier unit. It could be a bulb, lens, BT mic, etc.

so you mean I can just pry it off? wedge something flat between the plastic and headliner? I am afraid to break it, once I have it off I am positive I can fix the rattle.

Like they said there is a cover that you can carefully pull off to acess 2 t20 or 25 torx screws. then you will have to go around the base and unlock tabs from a retaining ring that is glued to the headliner. chances are the retaining ring has come unglued from your headliner and it is causing the rattle. You can simply reglue it down and then carefully reinstall the assembly making sure you don't knock the ring back off the headliner. I like to use a small hook tool to pull down on the ring as im pushing up on the assembly to get the locking tabs in place.

I got a rattle there as well, lol. It's kind of annoying when you're accelerating and it rattles at around 2k RPM. I also have a slight rattle on the door speaker. Too much damn plastic in this car.
