I'm in love with the R56 JCW Recaro Seats, but I can't justify spending that sort of money on seats.

Does anyone have any aftermarket suggestions? Or maybe a place where I can find the JCW Recaro seats for less than what Mini charges?

It all depends on what you're looking for out of the seat and what kind of competing you do. I personally wouldn't spend my money on anything cheap and cheesy. But I also wouldn't waste my money on seats without a purpose. If you are looking for track day or autocross seats with good lateral support, I'd look into a Recaro, Bride or Corbeau. They've all been in the seat game for a long time and make very high quality seats that combine the comfort and usability of a street seat with the higher side bolsters you might want out of a track seat.

It all comes down to the budget and purpose.

 

If you can work around the airbag warning, and are sure your insurance company will cover you after you remove the SRS safety system in the stock seats, (including the JCW Recaro's), go for it...

 

Richard brings up an awesome point. Even if your Insurance company is ok with it, the rate might go up a little bit as your rates are partially based on safety features. Removing the airbag seats removes one srs feature.
