I'm picking up a used s and I'm trying to figure out whether or not I should install the new upgraded tensioner... It doesn't seem be making any noise but I was wondering it would just be proactive to do it.

Never mind I figured it out.

Your sig suggests you have an R50, what did you get and what kind of miles are on it?

You can kindly ask the dealer to pull up the service history of the car and see when the timing chain assembly and/or tensioner was replaced. I would bet a '07 would have already had it done at least once by now.
