FYI: Never remove hood trim!

so i was installing new stripes yesterday and wanted to be thorough and tuck the excess under the chrome hood trim at the windshield and at the grille.

the grille was not a problem, but the trim at the windshield is a nightmare to put back together and put back on! the chrome insert came off the rubber and is nearly impossible to install, let alone stay together long enough to get it back in place on the hood!

if anyone has any tips how to install the chrome when the rubber is in place or off the car i would be most grateful

Sorry to hear your having problems with the hood trim. Im having issues with the beltline trim under the rear quarter panel windows. I wish Mini had made the trim more user friendly. I hope you find solution.

I watched the guys put in a new windshield yesterday and they had to remove all that - you might check with a local window replacement shop and see if they might take the job on for you. They had parts and screws all over the place!
