Another P2885 (sigh) Break Through?

Here is whats going on. Obviously no boost but.... Cold days, cold intake air temp, cooler (under 210) ECT temp I get boost. The warmer the engine gets the more boost I lose. Now it's not always this way sometimes I have no boost from the get go. Last year my factory BPV was bad and replaced with a Forge unit. Great for oh 8 months then I change my oil 2 months ago and as soon I take the car out I get the P2885 code. Checked all vac lines and electrical connections. Seems to me it is a temp related issue. My car gets up to 219 ( is this normal) seems hot to me. Turbo spins free and w/ no play. Waste gate is also moving back and forth as boost is made and lost. I highly doubt it's a bad turbo as you can hear it spool and it builds the 10-12lbs it should when the computer actually lets it build. Could it be a temp sensor or bad t-stat? What ECT's are your cars running? What is normal?

Thanks for any help!

First off, sorry to hear, and hopefully you get it figured out. I've had the P2885 issue several times with several different outcomes. As for temps, mine runs around 225 once fully warmed up, dropping occasionally, but never going past 227 or 229 under wot until the intercooler opens up. My last p2885 issue (which seemed temperature related to me) ended up being a carbon buildup issue. Have you ever walnut blasted/do you run an occ? There's always the chance its a sensor or t-stat as well. Good luck!

220F is the normal coolant temp for these cars when they are warmed up. It's evidently lower when the "sport" button is pressed.

Sorry to hear about the turbo. My '08 runs 223-226 warmed up with ambient temps 90ish.

It really is bitter sweet though. I had noticed my car using oil couple months back but the tailpipes were not sludged up and it did not smoke. So I am glad to know it was the turbo filling the inter-cooler rather than valve seals or rings.

As I was chasing down this problem tonight I found my vacuum lines FULL of oil! The VAC canister was also completely full of oil. Which leads me to believe the turbo seals are blowing oil by and filling the vac system (explains the oil in the intercooler and charge pipes). So question is after turbo is rebuilt should the vac pump be replaced or just give it a good cleaning like the rest of the vac system?
