JCW standard equipment suspension

After several consultations with the Hendrick dealership parts people and sales people, researching on RealOEM, as well as crawling under the car to measure sway bar thicknesses and strut part numbers the conclusion is the default suspension is the basic NOT sport. The configurator has it right but the MINIUSA website brochure, which states that "JCW tuned sport suspension" is standard, is incorrect. To get sport suspension on a factory JCW hardtop you must order sport suspension for $500.

Oddly enough the 11-digit part numbers on the stickers on the struts don't jibe with anything in Mini's system. There are 2 stickers on each strut/shock: one showing Made in UK on top of one showing Made in Poland. The sway bars mic'ed out at 22.5mm and 17mm which are what is called out for the basic suspension package.

All this to say that no wonder the suspension feels soft! It is!
