Ok Folks. That is my question.Clean the valves... We have 30k mile o rings, timing chains at 50k.Waterpump at ? Turbo's at ? Auto Transmissions at ? I have a Mini with 99k still kicking hard. When should I rebuild the engine or ap for a new engine from Mini. Again my engine is fine...What is your odometer read ?

 

There is only one answer IMO. When the engine fails.

 

There are a number of reasons to rebuild an engine, but they all involve the internals of the engine, which include components such as the connecting rods, the crankshaft, pistons and assorted bearings and seals. A motor's pistons ride up and down inside the engine's cylinders. There are rings installed around the pistons which seal them, which create the motor's compression. If the rings become worn, the engine rings will need to be replaced, which entails a teardown of the engine. An engine can also need a rebuild because of a lack of oil, dirty oil destroying bearings over time or by the engine being over-revved, which can break a connecting rod and cause other problems.

 

Compressions are all 150 psi so I'm good now. Trying to find out a censes on things.

 

Too much of a varied QC on the MINIs to know for sure. :/
