This is my second Mini, an '12S. My previous Mini was an '08S with sports suspension and 17" Dunlops. I dumped them at 11,000 miles. They were brutal in terms of ride and the constant tramlining on the freeway. I changed to a non-runflat tire and the improvement was incredible.
On my current car I have 195/55-16 Conti Pro Contact run flats with the stock suspension. For my driving needs, my current combination is an improvement over even the non runflats of my previous car. I might buy non runflats when replacing my current tires, but I want something with the same on center feel of my current tires and I will not change to 17's. Any ideas?
