I have a '13 MCS with cold weather package. I was told it included power folding mirrors, heated mirrors, heated washer fluid and heated from seats. I get the heated from seats and power folding mirrors.

My BMW had a little heat symbol on the mirrors showing they were heated, the MINI does not. Are they heated? What activates them?

How to tell if the washer fluid really is heated? For some reason I just have a feeling they are not. Do these features require heated headlamp washer fluid as well? I definitely don't see those if they are required.

The manual states that they come on automatically at a preset temperature.

 

Just pulled window sticker and it says "cold weather package - heated seats, power folding mirrors, heated mirrors and heated washer fluid jets".

Just odd it doesn't have the little heated symbol I have had on all other of my cars and see on other cars with heated mirrors (granted not minis as I don't see much around here).

 

Huh. Okay. Sounds fair enough. Guess just used to my BMW. Had to have defrost on for them to come on and work.

i have seen mine work when there is a heavy frost

but you are correct, there is no visual indication

another mini quirk i guess

I wondered the same until we had that bit of snow recently, they were def. heated because all of the frost on them came right off and the remained cleaned through out my drive.

As already mentioned, they are automatic and without a symbol, as on the BMW I had before. It was the same on that one.
It's not the fluid that is heated, but the jets on the hood. You can see it when it's freezing temperatures. I don't think the jets in the headlights are heated, but I'm not sure.
I have a euro spec car, and the BMW I was refering to also was. I suppose it's the same.
I hope it's understandable. I'm also euro spec and English is not my first language :-)
