Just purchased a new 2013 Mini Cooper S (R56). It sounds like a Volkswagen with the little flowers on the dash. I am looking for an aggressive sound, little to no drone at highway speeds, a growl at wide open trottle. I love old muscle cars and want the sound to be a deep throated sound, not a gurgle or a pop.

It is solid black with black wheels and I want it to sound as mean as it looks!

Any suggestions or help appreciated.

 

Search for "exhaust" in the 2nd gen drivetrain forums using the advanced search function. Keep in mind the 2011+ R56 has a different grunt than the older 2007-2010 R56. There are a ton of open discussions on this topic already.

 

Adding a downpipe will make it louder for sure. you can also cut out the second cat and that will give you more sound.
