My insurance is covering I believe. Police report should be available within a few days. I'm trying to connect with the claims adjuster to work on that part of it. The other adjuster (who totaled the car) finished their part and the total loss department should have my check within a couple of days. They (allstate) separate both functions. I hope to have this ironed out soon.

Glad your ok but that truck you hit was protecting the workers or work vehicles. I'm glad you hit that and not the workers, it is what it's designed for. The arrow you mention seeing is telling you to get over. The thing you hit is called TMA (truck mounted attenuator). the industry refers to them as crash cushins. That is what saved your life it is designed to absorb the impact. Had it not been there the outcome would have been very different. I am responsible in my real world job of roughly 500 lane miles of interstate maintenance. Been in this field for 23 years. Please pay attention those are my coworkers, direct reports and friends. It wasn't the mini it was the TMA that saved your life.

Did you see the car? You'll never convince me that the MINI didn't perform exactly as it should and avoid serious injury or worse. I don't understand the "you didn't make that" attitude.

I don't recall saying the MINI didn't perform as designed. I am sorry if you interpreted my post as "you didn't make that" attitude. I'm saying the TMA did what it was supposed to do had that not been on the truck things may have turned out differently.

Agreed, I'm also sure the TMA was/is also a life saver.
