Well since the last time I updated this... I have started my search for a JCW exhaust to either buy straight out or trade my Stratmosphere for. Maybe with a bit of money on top to make the transaction a little sweeter. Then I came upon resonator and 2nd cat deletes... and that really has sparked my interest. Mainly because it seems to be a cheaper alternative to a 950.00 JCW Exhaust. Only problem now is that I'm prolly not gonna be able to find a shop to do the deletes hahaha. So its a never ending cycle.

Are the JCW Exhaust's really $950 shipped? I miss the times where you could easily find a OEM exhaust for a car for really really cheap cause no one wanted it hahaha. All I know is that if I have my current setup on the car for much longer, I may actually go crazy!

Other than that... I'm just waiting for nicer weather to come and stay so I can install my coils/RLCA's and wheels. During the day its 54 degrees and a few hours later its snowing Thats what you get for leaving in Illinois then I guess. Crazy *** weather.

Well since my last update I have....

gotten the stratmosphere exhaust off the car... cursed the car up and down because I just cant seem to get the v band clamp to ever work for me.

Took the car to Midas to get the fJCW exhaust welded on. And am actually pretty surprised at how quiet it is, especially with the resonator taken out. Maybe when I add my catless downpipe back I'll get the sound I want. From the videos I've seen/heard... should be awesome!

And I ordered some interior stuff... just black jack door handle stickers... and a black jack center dash piece.

Debating if I wanna take the car to Sears for them to install my coils so I dont have to deal with it... or just suck it up and do it.

How warm did you get the exhaust? It does get a bit louder as it soaks up some heat...but even then it doesn't really start singing until 4000rpm and up.

I've had the car at every possible temperature there is now. Maybe I'm just to use to the Stratmosphere exhaust I had on there... which was loouuudd!! And that's why I was surprised at how quiet it was. Or maybe I have just become waaayyy to picky with exhausts now. I was also hoping for some pop and burble but from what I have read so far.. the 08's dont have it. Only the newer ones and older ones.. but not the 08's . Once I get the DP back on... I think I'll be happy with how it sounds. Thanks again for the exhaust! Hope you liking your VIP one.

Yeah yeah yeah! I would but...

1. Its been to cold for that kind of funny business... and

2. I'm really dreading... and I mean REALLY DREADING!! messing with the v band clamp again... cause this time I can't just take it to a muffler shop and have them mess with it. Cause since its a catless DP... no one will touch the thing.

Fixing the exhaust leak does seem to have solved the weird wooshing sound I was getting after the BOV went off that I had asked about earlier in this thread. So I'm pretty happy about that. In the past few days I have ordered a bunch of stuff....so just waiting on that to arrive. Some interior stuff... a Helix FMIC from a member on here... and the NM Torque Insert.

Installing the coils isnt that hard, if you have some tools. Did your coil overs come with top hats, or do you need to disassemble the stock ones?

Wow, all this talk of the cold weather and mechanics that won't touch catless DP's, etc make me glad I live down here in the land of cotton....

I got the ST Coilovers so I will need to transfer over the stock top hats. I know how to do everything... but something always seems to happen to where it takes days in order to finish whatever I'm working on. Not sure if its worth my stress doing it myself.

I've got a bunch of things to put on the car as well, I'm planning on using the Easter weekend, it gives me an extra day to work on stuff (ive got Friday off), and NAPA is open on Sunday if i get in trouble.....

Plus putting the koni yellows on gives me an excuse to check over things and make sure nothing got hurt over winter. And clean the 6 months worth of crud out....

Maybe I'll have time to swap out the factory exhaust :-)

Man.... all you guys getting stuff install makes me wanna start putting all the stuff I have on. I get my tuner lug bolts tomorrow.. and then Saturday I think I'm gonna go to Discount Tire and have my wheels mounted. Then getting my windows tinted on Tuesday. Still havent decided on whether I wanna deal with the suspension yet or not haha. Its gonna need to be aligned anyways... so I might just kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Or you could spend more money and get another set of upper shock mounts for the front. That way you don't have to disassemble the springs, and you will pick up some additonal camber. Fixed Ireland Engineering plates are about $200, and I have around 1.5/1.7 camber with them (I don't remember off hand). Adjustable plates are better, but good ones are double that price.

Have fun,
Mike

Yeah I'm actually around 2.5 hrs south of Chicago... but the place I'm getting them tinted at is called Wizard Window Tinting out of Peoria Il. Only charging 155 for all 5 windows and from everything I have read, everyone has had a good experience with them. A local place wanted double for the same thing.
