Service Light issue!

Okay, i looked up the instructions on how to reset the service on the r56. I have an 07 "s" by the way.

I recently changed my oil for the 1st time, my display was showing 6k miles - 7/12.

About 2 days before changing the 6k left the screen and only the 7/12 would display when starting the car... Anyways..

I put in key, press start button, hold both buttons and so on.... get to VIN...run dash light check. The next step says to release the right button when the "time reappears on the display" what comes back is my current milage (68,422) and my trip odometer. I release the right anyways for less than a second and get back on it.. It goes straight back to the VIN then runs another dash check.

Can anyone help?!

There is another way to reset the service indicator. I put both in this document. See if that works for you.

I tried this, when i got into the menu i got to a weird symbol that looked similar to an "8" and it hard "service" under it.... It opted me to change a date month/year. I ignored it and hit "reset"

After resetting it, i started the car. Now it displays "service, 3200" 3200 miles i assume? Something cant be right.

Have you reviewed the different symbols for the different services that are tracked by the OBC? The symbols can be found in the owner's manual. I could be you had more than one service interval that needed to be reset. The OBC will display whatever it thinks is "next", so you may have just cleared the first in a list of more than one.
