Transmission make, R56 Justa?

Apologies if this is an obvious question, but I've been searching this site and others, did the VIN check on several sites, but I just can't seem to find

...my make of transmission.

Amazon says its one of these, and its automatic, so I know its not #1:
  • 5-Speed Standard Transaxle GS5-52BG
  • Aisin Warner 6-Speed Automatic Transaxle GA6F21WA
  • Automatic CVT Transaxle GACVT16Z
  • Getrag 6-Speed Standard Transaxle GS6-55BG

I guess my second question is... is there anywhere I can search (next time) to get a detailed list of my car's specs? Not the generic stuff I can find on Edmunds, but literally the one I bought, back in 2008.

Again, sorry if I'm being a damn fool and missing something obvious.

Auto R56s have Asin transmissions. 5 speed and CVT was on the R50. Getrag is the manual.

Somewhere on the forum there was a thread where you could send a guy your VIN and he'd eventually send back your specs. Seems to have died off though... There's also the NAM VIN decoder, although I've not actually used that yet.

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...vindecoder.php

Your other option is to take the key into a BMW dealer and ask. They can pull it all up for you and spit out a printout. Shouldn't cost anything.

Edit: Just used the NAM VIN Decoder. It's damn impressive.

I agree. I would place it higher on the site, make it more noticeable.

Using RealOEM.com, that Justa's have the GS6-55BG manual transmissions.

What "specs" are you wanting? The factory build sheet?
Or the standard technical specs of the car's length, width, etc?

I guess that's what I want. Something that will say literally what my car (the single vehicle with my VIN #) has.
Which I think is what the VIN Decoder gives me.

What I'm ultimately after is knowing what parts to buy.
When I go to Amazon, their parts selector engine was asking me things that I didn't know / couldn't find (single or dual cam, transmission brand).

Anyway to import my VIN Decoder information into a parts supplier's (Amazon or otherwise) website?
