GP replicas on R56s "help please"
I have searched and searched but nothing on these wheels for the r56 models. I'm thinking about buying these link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/330684242628...#ht_3479wt_922
And all I've came across are r53 models. I know r53s have 12mm bolts and r56s have 14mm ones. So I'm wondering if I'll have any troubles with these ones and if anyone can tell me if these are "the good replicas" or "not good replicas"
I'm sure we have all seen these on eBay but haven't seen them on r56 MCS. I have a 08 MCS.

Talk to Rally he is the wheel guru he will help you the best.
In my opinion though there is no such thing as good replicas. I don't trust no name/fly by night companies. Especially ones from Ebay. For the price that they are offering those wheels you can get a nice set of used wheels or a decent set of new wheels.

My understanding is that they would fit if they are OEM. Jun at A-Spec sells all kinds of wheels, he also sells MINI rep wheels. Hit him up, I'm sure not only does he sell them but can answer any questions you have. jpswheels@yahoo.com
I was reading on the gen 1 form, that the real oems cost alot. I'm not looking to spend alot at this point in time and haven't found a place where the prices are like that. I know you get what you pay for but at the sometime I don't care about the weight because I'm not going to the track, yet at least lol, and 19lbs to 22lbs really doesnt have a really huge mass difference. It's not like 19lbs to 25-30lbs lol just my own thoughts...
It is not even about the weight it just that reps are not made at the same quality as say OEM or some name brand wheels and tend to have bigger failing issue like exploding instead of bending.

See I think I'll wait or keep looking lol
What about this brand http://www.ebay.com/itm/271029658810...ht_6224wt_1077
Replicas are also gravity cast, not forged and they break and bend really easy. For an 18" wheel with a rubberband for tires, I would be REALLY worried about this. But then again, you can only buy 1-1/3 OEM GP wheels for the price of a set of the replicas. Plus. you will be hard pressed to find a dealer who will order them for you since you do not own a GP, they are not supposed to allow you to order them.
"I have got pictures on my personal computer of knock off Rotas and namebrand 949racing wheels being damaged. It boils down to that has been said multiple times about wheels, you get 2 of 3 choices, strong, cheap, or light.
Stong-cheap does not equal light.
Strong-light does not equal cheap.
Cheap-light does not equal strong."
With that said, I'm running the R113 17" knock-offs at the beginning of that thread (middle of the three) and love them.
$400 for all 4 and they look like the $3,250 option!
FYI the original GP's had 14mm lug bolts even though they are an R53
And I do know for a fact if you want to run the GP wheels over the JCW brembo brake kit on the 09+ JCW you will need a 20mm spacer.
