Are you saying wait till the motor fails and claim it was installed at the factory? Hmm that is an interesting idea. I bet the car gets shipped back to the factory for a complete investigation to find the guy who put a piece of tubing in the motor or they just say you get to pay for all the repairs at the dealership.

i wouldn't be able to sleep knowing this was in my engine.
can you experiment w/ another piece of tube to see if it will melt? ...if so, wondering if that would be good or bad, ...there is probably enough lubricant that a bit of melted plastic may not make a difference? Then you could do an oil change to remove the melted piece. ....on the other hand, if a melted piece of tube is bad, you could really do some serious damage and would really want to get this out.

have you driven your car since this incident?
