Is the mobility kit reliable instead of a spare ?

I am probably just going to go with some lighter wheels also when the runflats wear out. Not too worried about not having a spare. *knock on wood* never had a flat, so I think I will be fine. Maybe I'll just keep a can of that "fix a flat" for worse case scenario.

So I just dropped my car off at Discount Tire for a rotation, and the tech said I'd need new tires pretty soon (which I already knew). This thread came to mind, so I inquired about dumping the runflats, and she told me that because BMW "designs their cars around runflats", it was unsafe and in fact would net me worse performance by running regular old tires!

Now in light of this thread, and others, I have to think that the tech was either misinformed or wanted to sell me a set of runflats. This is BS, right? I've heard nothing but good things about ditching the runflats.
