Recently I replaced the valve cover gasket. My first DIY!!!. Thank you to all the NAM members and How-To section for the assistance. Without the help this wouldnt have been possible.

Could you comment on how the engine looks. It has 70K miles. Any sludge? any remarks that may help me in better maintenance?

It's too hard to tell with a low resolution blurry picture. While it was open I would have looked at the cam lobes and valve train for wear and maybe even bar the engine over to check the condition of the timing chain.

I would also clean your engine bay. It looks like it hasn't ever been cleaned. It sounds trivial but I believe it's a necessary part of maintaining your vehicle. I just can't stand working on cars with engine bays piled up with dirt.

 

Seriously take a picture with non shaky movement at high resolution. Post it on photobucket and then share it in here. Much easier to help you then, if at all.
