hi guys and gals, need a recommendation for a COMPACT rear facing infant seat to go into my R56. main criteria are snug, safe fit and compact size length wise to allow for as much as possible front seat leg room and reclining. i tried some searching, but in vain. need the final answer in a week THX!

 

Both of our kids have little people and drifferent brands of seats of which I know nothing about brand names*. We've had them in our R52 and both work equally well frontwards or backwards. I don't think it makes any difference, whatever appeals to you. They all have to answer to the same highway safety standards.

*(When those kids were growing up I sat them on my knee when I drove into town or they rode in the back of the pickup. Times and attitudes have changed.)

 

I found it was really hard for my little one to be in a rear facing seat in the back and
still have room for the front seat. In fact we had to have the front all the way forward and straight up. Luckily that was only for a month and now she is in a forward facing seat which is perfect. I hope you have better luck than we did.

 

It has been almost two years since we were shopping for one, but we went with the Chicco Keyfit 30. There may be something smaller now though.
