2012 Cooper Hardtop rear fog light to reverse light

2012 Cooper S JCW Stage 1.
Factory installed Aero kit.
I did NOT order the rear fog light option.
I replaced the driver side fog light lens with a driver side reverse lens.

I'm assuming there are two reverse light plugs and two rear fog light plugs. When I'm underneath the car, all I see is one plug on both sides. I can't see how to get into where the other plugs might be. Any ideas?

How many wires in the plug? The same plug might be used for both lights.

Two on the Passenger's and two on the driver's.

Driver's Side

They both have a brown wire, but the original reverse light (passenger side) has a blue and white wire where as the driver's side has a black and white wire.

What confuses me is that the 2011+ Mini Cooper S and JCW have two reverse lights in their bumper to begin with. So where is the second reverse light plug? From what I'm reading, there should already be a plug for the reverse light. The current plug on the driver's side does nothing.

Is it hidden behind the bumper? Anyway to get to it from the trunk or am I stuck with removing the bumper?

It might be programed not to work. Otherwise you would get a light out warning.

I guess I'm asking whether or not the cable that is attached to the fog light lens is also connected to the reverse light or is able to be a reverse light cable for my new reverse light lens. The obvious solution would be to tap into the passenger side reverse cable, but I'd rather not cut into anything if there already is a cable designated to being a reverse light.

The link above shows a 2012 Mini Cooper S (granted it's a roadster, but the rear bumper is the same as the hardtop's rear bumper) with two reverse lights standard. I know the reverse plug in is there. That's what the car was built with. The Aero kit was put on at the port like all of the factory Aero kit Mini Coopers. I'm not worried about a bulb out warning since my car does not have the rear fog light option. I'm just wanting to know where the plug is and how to get it.

Are you sure about that? It used to be the case that JCW aero kits were installed at the dealer or port (in the configurator, listed only in the accessories section), but it has now become a real factory option and I'd imagine that it is now actually installed at the factory, just like the previous (non-JCW) factory aerokit.

In any case, I think you'll have to take off the bumper to investigate. If the aerokit is factory installed, it's quite possible that the extra wiring is missing.

I am sure you will need a programming change in the FRM module. And it may also require wiring changes. I haven't looked specifically at the LCI models, but I know for the R55 Clubman's single reverse light it is handled differently then the R56's dual lights. Same with the rear fog lights, pre-LCI model Clubman and non-turbo have a single rear fog where the S models have two.
