OEM offset and compatible offsets for 2012

I've spent the last couple days searching the forums for this answer, but I can't exactly find what I'm looking for, just random bits and pieces of information. I want to know OEM 17" wheel offset (or the range of offsets) and the range of aftermarket offsets that will fit a 2012 MCS with sport suspension. 17x7 or 17x7.5 wheels.

Right now I'm looking at a 17x7.5 set of wheels and I'm waiting for him to tell me the offset so I can find out if they'll work as winter wheels for my car. But if these wheels do not fit, I rather know what to look for, instead of jumping back and forth on the forum to find if all different offsets are compatible with our cars. I'd rather not use spacers.

Thanks for your time!

OEM wheels are 17X7", with 48 mm offsets. OE tire size is 205/45/17.

Most 17X7" and 17X7.5" aftermarket wheels shown at Tire Rack for the 2012 MCS have offsets between 37 and 45 mm. That offset range should work with the 205/45/17 tire; with the shorter offsets moving the wheel/tire out more toward the fender lips.

Some probably prefer an even shorter (lower) offset than the 37 mm above for a more aggressive looking stance (wheels/tires close to the fender lips).

You can check out the wheels offered for the 2012 MCS at the Tire Rack website. They provide a lot of wheel information; brands, widths, offsets, weights, price, etc.

I has these on my R56 and they worked just great.

In fact they are for sale. Less than 500 miles in perfect condition. $300.00 if you want. You pay the freight.

No thanks. I'm looking at a set for $60. They can use a good sanding and a spray of paint, but it's a deal I can't refuse as long as they fit. They're only for winter.

Understood.

No harm in asking.

Are you going to run the wheels with or without the TPMS? If you are going to run the wheels without the TPMS that will work just fine. But to outfit the wheels with new sensors so that the TPMS system works will set you back well over $200.00 for new sensors. If you have spares you get get away with the $8.00 rebuild kit for each wheel.

or you can move them from your summer set and still get away with only the rebuild kit but then you'll have to switch back or bite the bullet and buy em new.

Good luck.

I'm just going to run without and deal with the beeping.

Or I have the option to buy an OEM set for $300 (in my area,) but they're off a 2007/2008, so the TPMS won't work with my 2012. Decisions!

I don't know if I should buy a cheap set of no-name wheels, or spend a little more for OEM. OEM is probably a stronger better wheel for the winter.
