Tuning will definitely maximize your mods. Depending on what all you do, the map/fueling will likely need changed. The Alta Acessport is very popular. It has presets that allow you to tune for each mod as you go along and a simple ECU reflash will reveal some untapped potential vs the stock map.

What's good to do in a MINI? Hit the twisties!

mods and tuning

I have a 2008 MCS and it's an auto. I've done a few mods and have the Alta/Cobb Accessport. The AP has quite a few pre configured tunes for automatics. I'm happy with the tunes I get from the AP, AND it is very noticeable from the stock map. I love the way my Mini drives with the various maps I upload. As anybody else on here will tell you, no matter what you install on your car, you will not see/feel any real gains until you modify the car's software to truly make use of the hardware you've installed. I think you and her will be pleased with the way the AP transforms your car's performance along with whatever upgrades you've done to it. I know I am. But I am now to the point of needing some custom tuning. And the AP will allow me to do that also. You're going to have some people that swear by the AP, while others insist on using the Dimsport MyGenius. It really doesn't matter which route you go, a conservative tune can be had by both. It all really just comes down to how much you want to spend and how extensive your mods are going to be. Either way, get a tune and you will be pleased with the results.

If you aren't going to tune the car, intake and exhaust are only going to be for sound. Don't expect more than maybe 5 hp from both those mods together. it just isn't going to happen...
