So, the tachometer on the 2012s show even less information than on the 2011s.

You have your speed in the top window and your mileage in the bottom window along with one other option of your choice.

I love the information that shows in my 2009's tachometer. I have time and temperature in the top window, mileage, trip, and one option of my choice in the bottom.

Is there any way to change the tach in the 2012 that allows you to see the same options as my '09?

Exactly. Less customizable than my 2009 but more than the new 2012. I'm wondering if there is a way to re-program (not necessarily DIY) the top window to show different information than just the speed.

 

NCSExpert can set it back to the pre-11 way. There's some sticky threads on it in the electrical section. A DIY but not necessarily easy.
