R56 Is this car worth the price?
I looked again with more of the options the car had again and according to nada.com the clean trade in would be $18300. kbb.com has it at $19300 as a clean trade in value. I would be surprised if they own it for 19.3 unless they have had it on their lot for awhile. And if that is the case then they should be looking to unload it for less than a $1600 profit.
Don't go there...
So while you have you hand already in the cookie jar why don't you let the lid shut really really hard, 'cause I think that is what you will be doing with the palm of your hand on your forehead at some point in the near future if you go along with this purchase, again just MO, but I really think Capt bj's offer is so much better than getting bent over on this MINI you are so enamored with!!

And, no offense to Capt_Bj, but his car is no where near what I am looking for. I appreciate the offers and persuasion, but it is not for me,
Well, you have had lots of input, some suggesting not such a bad price, others, suggesting way overpriced. The question is, what are you going to do????
Ultimately, if you feel comfortable with the MINI and it's value to you, that's really all that counts.

Wish I lived in Florida...I'd buy Capt BJ's mini lol. I've been searching for a year to get a good price that I don't feel is too much. Just can't bring myself to spend over 20k on a used car with 50k miles on it.
Maybe it is just me, but if you can swing it, new would seem to be a better deal. My wife has wanted a Mini for a long time. We started looking a couple of years ago and I found that there wasn't that much difference in price between new and used. We bought a new 2010 MCSa last year with exactly the packages she wanted for under $25K. Maybe things have changed since then, but I would think you could get a new 2011 MCS for a similar price?
I could be biased, however, from getting stuck with a used lemon years ago (not a Mini)

I bought new also, fully loaded, so mine was in the $30K neighborhood, but I was looking for a daily driver that I can put 20K miles on a year and keep for a while. That said, pre-owned can be a good option. It's interesting though how we look at transactions. $25K - $27K for a new MINI vs $19K - $20K for a used one on the surface looks like a "no brainer", if you can swing the extra $5K - $8K. But we tend to forget that the extra $$ for the new vehicle, can add $100 or more to the monthly payment, even with 0.9% available on the new MINI. For many folks the extra $100 a month just doesn't work. The OP might look at leasing (not a good option in my mind, but many others would disagree) or possibly buy a new "Justa".
Wait for a left over
2010 Cooper S fully loaded 7 miles no demo.Laser Blue, leather carbon black,Value package,Sunroof,Premium Sound 24,500 out the door including tax best I could do building a 2011 was bringing me around 30K with tax but was not able to get BMW finance deals since it was a left over so just paid cash. This car was built in May 2010 and I did the deal in April 2011 so they wanted to move it also did not pay 700.00 delivery charge.
I think because I come from domestic cars that can lose half their value from new in a few years, I am not used to the fact that Minis hold their value well. (Example - my neighbor just bought a 2008 Chevy Impala 37k miles, looks to have every option for $13K).
Yes, it is easy to say buy new, but not everyone can come up with the extra few thousand or afford the increased payment. Best of luck to the original poster whatever he decides.
