How do I replace the rear window plastic trim?

I have a 2008 mini cooper s and discovered the other day while washing the car that the plastic trim piece is broken. I have no idea how it happened but it needs to be replaced. It looks like I could just remove the rubber molding and remove thereafter?

Anybody have experience replacing this piece? It is the piece that sits on the chassis and meets the front window. It is between the rear window and front window. Long skinny black plastic piece.

on this picture it is in chrome.

Thanks in advance!

Are you talking about the belt line trim ?

If so, each section should have an end cap that pulls out then the rest of the trim slides out after it.
