Rear lic plate light's out...

I have an 08 mini with the lic. plate lights out. I've inspected the lights, and they seem good, and I'm having trouble locating the fuse number for these lights. No mods have been done on the car, so I don't believe a wire short would be the culprit.
Any help would be appreciated.

I just had to change mine. Just FYI when I took mine out, the filament appeared intact. But swappig it with a new bulb was the trick. Try putting in another bulb or at least using a multimeter on the light contacts before you start tracking a problem down that isn't one.

Yes, I just replaced the license plate bulb on my 2008 MCs. Same thing, the filament looked OK, but it was burned out. Hardest part was manuvering the new bulb into place. The bulb fits between two sping plates like an old VW fuse, and there's not a lot of space, so be careful not to drop the bulb, although even at the dealer the bulb was only $2.
