I agree with cop Alien. It's a complete tragedy for something like this to happen anywhere, in our country or otherwise.

Having said that, you may want to respond without a) CAP LOCKS on which indicates you're screaming.

and b) cop was right, you came out of nowhere yelling about terrorists.

The discussion was about cops using minis and someone posted a pic of a mini police car. I had no idea where or what country that was and I sure as hell didn't know the circumstances the pic was taken in.

My apologies but a little tact will get you a long way.

I wonder if the officers in Turkey and Germany have to carry the assortment of things on their belts that we find necessary here.

It seems to me that the driver's area would get crowded with a sidearm, and the other stuff and that it might make using a Mini a bit uncomfortable.

I also wonder if the cars themselves are diesels (the Turkish car seems to have a JCW grill but no hood scoop -- is it a model we don't see here?)

As far as I know they are Mini Ones not even cooper but next time I will check more carefully, We do not have Diesel option here in Turkey due to tax and customs regulation it somewhat comes to the same price as Cooper S.

I go "strapped" in my MINI all the time, often w/a spare mag and a Blackberry hung on my belt too. It's not bad at all, but I have learned to sort of roll out of the car rather than try to slide out. A handheld radio and a couple of cuff cases would start to get in the way, but they do make aftermarket seats that have cutouts for duty belts -- very expensive though.
