Most new cars do burn a little oil. Especially with the very thin and slippery oil being used in engines these days. The VW 2.0T burns around a quart every 5k. Mine did it and everyone that I talked to did it and I babied that car since it was my first every brand new car. My neighbor has been a VW master tech for the last 15 years, he stated its normal for most turbo based engines.
