R56 Engine mount crack?
Engine mount crack?
I just got a report from a free (dealership) check up on my MC 2002, and was told I have a front motor mount crack? Yikes! Is this as serious as it sounds and how could it have happened when the car has never been in an accident? 34,500 miles. Also lower control arm bushings cracked.
I just had the whole front bumper area replaced for cosmetic reasons. Shouldn't they have seen this?

First gen cars rule? Not from my perspective, Taz-bro.
This is common. As the early motor mounts get old they get shorter and when that happens they put extra stress on the upper mount on the strut tower and crack it. So you need to replace both to do it right.
As for control arm bushings, they are known for going bad all the time.
Replace them with the Powerflex bushings and your problem will be gone.
