Oh the pain of another door ding. Again, in my own garage, by a friend getting in. I can't blame them since it a bit tight, and they don't know my "system" of getting in and out. The first time I was dinged, I had it popped out and was quite pleased with the results. It didn't require any paint, just popping out. This time it took off some paint and dented it in about the size of a quarter. My question is; should I touch it up with paint first and them call the dent poppers (hoping they can buff out the paint "bump") or just let them see what they can do without touching it up first. If I do that (2nd option), then it may end up looking like a typical paint pen touch up job (ugly). Any one come across this situation before?

 

Don't touch it up first. Let the professional dent guys take care of it... they usually do a great job.

Let the dent guy work it first then deal with whats left, there is a chance a little more paint will come off while working the ding.
