R56 Service light

Service light
We have a 2007 MCS that my wife usually drives. It took about 19000 miles to get to our first service which turned out to be quite a hassle (see the Carbon Deposit Build-up threads). Of course after the service, the "miles to next service" indicator was reset. It stayed at 8000 miles for a long time. Not long ago it went to 7000 miles. Then, last week with about 24400 on the odometer it went to "Service". Based on your experience out there, is this normal for the second service, or does this indicate a real problem may have been sensed? It seems to be running O.K......the power might be down a little, but that's a subjective observation.
I'll probably take it in to the dealership Mon. or Tues. My wife said after her last experience, she doesn't want to deal with that service department again. In fact today she was talking about getting another type of car rather than going there, again. And, we like MINIs. I even had a classic Mini for several years.

Which service is due? The miles to service is the lowest of several different service indicatiors, you can check them in the tach display.
Some of the indicators are also time based, so if yours is a June production, it might just be telling you its time for the brake flush, which is done at 2 years.
